Erika is an intern in NLI's Digital Youth Leaders program in Los Angeles. Find out more about her and her experiences in the program so far:

First Name: Erika
Grade Level: Senior
City: Los Angeles, CA
What are your hobbies?
Some of my favorite hobbies are reading, reading and more reading.
What do you feel you bring to the internship?
My major interest is psychology. I love to socialize and help others; I seldom have a dull, bashful moment. What I feel I can bring to the internship is my durability, energy and opinion. I'm very opinionated. I love to talk and am a great listener.
What are your career/postsecondary plans?
I plan to go to college and obtain a Master’s degree in Business and Administration (if I don’t change it by next week). I also plan to minor in psychology because I am now taking a psychology class, and it is quite interesting. I plan to work hard because I understand that nothing could ever be achieved without hard work.
What is an important civic issue facing your community?
I believe one civic issue in our community is the lack of motivation. No one seems to be motivated anymore. Therefore, I guess my question is: Where's the motivation? We should live in a society where a life of imaginable riches and wealth is a possibility and not just a figure of your imagination. However, motivation is the key. If we motivate students to do their best and more, we are constructing a better community.
