The New Learning Institute transforms the way young people learn in the classroom by harnessing the potential of digital media as an educational tool and showing teachers how to introduce and integrate it into the daily classroom experience. In an NLI program, young people learn about much more than how to use a digital recording device or build a blog – they learn to collaborate, innovate, problem solve, think critically, and prepare themselves for the changing demands of the 21st century.
Our professional development workshops show teachers how the enthusiasm their students have for mobile phones, social networking, and all forms of digital media can become a liberating force for learning in any sphere. We give educators hands-on training in everyday communication and collaboration tools and real-world examples of successful classroom projects they can implement. And we work with teachers and administrators to develop new digital media programming, tailored specifically to the needs of their classroom and student population.
